The Katahdin region is known for its timber resources, clean lakes and waterways, and beautiful scenery. For generations we have relied on these natural resources to power our economy and provide us with recreational opportunities. Our laws need to balance conservation and economic development so we can preserve our way of life. We must use these resources sustainably so that they will be available to our children, our grandchildren, and those generations that follow.
